Design Editor at Quest, host of Perfectly Palm Beach

Jayne Chase is the Quest magazine design editor and host of  Perfectly Palm Beach. She’s the former Editor-in-Chief of Modern Luxury Palm Beach and has had a pretty amazing career in media, working with big names like Glamour, Vanity Fair, and Harper's Bazaar. She also ran the show on press, PR, and events at J.Crew. You might’ve caught her sharing her thoughts on Good Morning America, ABC, NBC, or CNBC. When she’s not on air or behind the scenes, Jayne loves giving back and staying involved in Palm Beach's community.

Jayne has also partnered with Privet to launch Privet Palm Beach Presents, an exciting new podcast venture that dives into the stories and people that make Palm Beach such a dynamic place. Through engaging conversations, she brings listeners closer to the local culture, celebrating the community’s vibrant spirit.

As the former Editor-in-Chief of Modern Luxury Palm Beach, current Design Editor at Quest magazine, and the host of Perfectly Palm Beach, your podcast series, it’s safe to say you have a knack for interviewing all types of people - creatives, business people, and philanthropists, among them. Is there a particular story or feature that has stood out to you over the years?

Jayne: I loved interviewing so many people in my career like Michael Bloomberg, (direct and easy to talk to) Bradley Cooper, ( so sweet and charming), and LeBron James (so tall), but the one that stands out locally is Venus Williams who was on our cover. I worked months and months in securing the interview and she and her team were so wonderful. Venus was smart, funny, genuine, open-minded and very hard working. She was who I expected her to be. A total champion in all ways.

The media refers to the “new Palm beach” quite a bit. How do you define this new era per se? What do you think signaled it?

Jayne: The pandemic definitely drove the overall change here but then again, it might have happened anyway. The weather, beaches, lifestyle, schools and housing all make Palm Beach County a very attractive place to live for all ages. I like to say strollers are replacing wheelchairs!

When did entering the podcast audio and video sphere become the logical next step? Is there a particular aspect about the process that gets you the most energized?

Jayne: The media landscape is changing everywhere but Palm Beach hasn’t quite caught up to other areas. It’s a big opportunity here and one we’re jumping on with Privet Palm Beach and my brand, Perfectly Palm Beach. I understand the media arena here and it’s definitely important to establish a multi-media platform which is how people are going to get all their news and information. We want to give residents all this in one easy place.

Are there local stories or spotlights that would like to revive? What type of content do you think Palm Beachers miss and/or want more of?

Jayne: I’d love to have someone from my parent’s generation talk about what PB was like in the 60’s & 70’s. Chic, exclusive and filled with social intrigue and juicy scandals. I think it’s important to learn about the past to fully understand the present.

We (Privet) were thrilled when you reached out to our team in the fall. What about the partnership with us has you the most excited?

Jayne: I was curious about Privet and loved the visual vibe right away. Then once I met everyone involved, it was just easy to say, I’m in! Plus, NORA is going to be very cool!

Your son and daughter-in-law live in NYC. When they come to visit, what or where are your must-dos around town?

Jayne: My boys grew up coming to PB so they know all the haunts, but they love HMF and everything at The Breakers.
